We raised $1,100 for charity using foursquare!

Wow! We really did it! Last night at the Porstmouth Foursquare meetup, NHTweetUp SceneUp and Scene@Five event at The Music Hall we raised $1,100 through foursquare for The Movemeber Foundation! We did it by asking people to donate money for every checkin on foursquare to The Music Hall that night. We started gathering donations late Wednesday and within 24 hours we received enough pledges to make each foursquare checkin worth a donation of $22! We capped checkin-donations at 50 (“a swarm badge‘s worth”) and within 2 hours after the party started we had 50 checkins and had raised the full $1,100 pledged!

We’re very proud to have taken part in the community banding together to create this amazing win for charity. We did it thanks to several generous individuals and businesses: Mark Dearborn ($50), The Duffy Agency ($100), Joshua Cyr ($50), Jason Boucher ($25), Christine Major ($75), Brian DeKoning ($50), Lost Sailor Records ($50), Important Records ($50), Flea-Marketing ($50), Vital Design ($100), Pixel Media ($250) and MicroArts ($250). (Disclaimer: Brian works at Vital Design and I work at MicroArts). Thanks to everyone for coming out and checking in on foursquare and raising $1,100 for charity!

We continue to encourage individuals, organization and businesses to join in on the donations. Please make a donation using the Portmsouth Foursquare Team Boston donation page so we can keep track of the money raised through foursquare! You can also help out by spreading the word and sharing the news of this amazing win for charity thanks to foursquare using the links below. Thank you!
